Narrative paintings were painted as visual stories of historical sites and events of the Buddha during his lifetime and his previous lives as told in the Jataka Tales. This painting captures the early charm and mystique of the Kathmandu Valley and the original is in the collection of the Indigo Gallery.

The painting was photographed by James Giambrone, using a Cannon 5D MKII and printed on 310gms German Hahnemühle cotton photo rag paper, bright white. The ink used is HP Vivera Pigment Ink and both the ink and paper are archival and are rated to last 200 years.
